Cry of the River Ravi
“A Cry of Dying Ravi” is a compelling series of eight interconnected performances that highlight the urgent need to address the environmental degradation of the River Ravi. Through powerful, interactive storytelling, Madhu invites the community to confront the challenges facing this vital waterway and to join in collective efforts to restore its health.
Staged across Lahore, the performances span a diverse array of locations, including Alhamra Art Centre, Pak Tea House, the riverbanks of the Ravi, and educational institutions such as Beaconhouse National University and National College of Arts. Each site adds a unique dimension to Madhu’s ongoing activism, emphasizing the historical, cultural, and ecological significance of the river.
For LB03, the series culminates in a range of dynamic events, from intimate gatherings at educational campuses to public performances by the Ravi itself, fostering awareness and sparking dialogue about the future of this fragile body of water that has shaped Lahore’s identity.
