Nasir Bagh & the Barracks Museum

Nasir Bagh (Urdu: ناصر باغ) is a historical garden located on Lower Mall near Anarkali Bazaar in Lahore. Being surrounded by other historically significant landmarks of Lahore, such as Government College Lahore, Old Anarkali, and Urdu Bazaar, makes Nasir Bagh's location even more central and appealing. It is historically significant on its own, as one of the oldest gardens within Pakistan, it has hosted famous protests, events, and political and social gatherings. To this day, Nasir Bagh is a people's favourite venue for picnics and personal gatherings. Currently named after the president of Egypt - Jamal Abdul Nasir - the park has gone through an evolution of names in the past. During the British Raj, the park was used for military band performances, for which it was called the Band Stand Garden. Post partition, it was called Gole Bagh before finally being named Nasir Bagh. By virtue of being a public friendly place, the park features a serene jogging track, a breathtaking view of the lake surrounded by seasonal flora and fauna, and landscaped walkover ways that are pleasing to look at. Nasir Bagh is one of the most peaceful gardens of the city of Lahore where public gatherings are held as a respite from the taxing hustle and bustle of Lahore’s city roads.
