Hoor Al Qasimi

Hoor Al-Qasimi, President and Director of the Sharjah Art Foundation, is a practicing artist with a BFA from the Slade School of Fine Art, London (2002), a Diploma in Painting from the Royal Academy of Arts (2005), and an MA in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art, London (2008). She is Chair of the Advisory Board for the College of Art and Design, University of Sharjah, and serves on advisory boards for Khoj International Artists’ Association, India, and Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing. She is also a Board Member of MoMA PS1, New York, and Ashkal Alwan, Beirut.

Hoor was the curator of the Lahore Biennale 2nd edition and served on the curatorial selection committee for the 2012 Berlin Biennale. She is a Visiting Lecturer at the Slade School of Fine Art. Her curatorial projects include Drift (2011) and In Spite of it All (2012)
